In order for the unit to communicate while conducting operations a communications infrastructure will be set up that allows for both voice and data communications on the battlefield between combat and C2 forces

Levels of communications

Certain levels of communication will be established in order to allow private communications between specific commanders & subordinates. These levels are:

  • Personnel to team/squad leader

  • Division/platoon/section leader to C2
For SOCOM forces, the ability to communicate from team leader directly to C2 may be needed. Therefore a voice and data communications network will be set up for that specific purpose
